For generations, the Beckers family has a tradition of growing and selling (their own) products on the Belgian and European market. Around 1870, the family owned a brewery and a farm. A few decennia later the brothers BECKERS were also well known as cattle handlers.
In 1950, Firmin Beckers died. His son Emile was only 4 years old at the time, much too young to succeed his father. However, only 10 years later, at the age of 14, Emile started growing hard fruit. This became his life and passion. Emile always kept looking for new opportunities and innovation. More than 35 years ago, he was one of the first fruit growers to cultivate JONAGOLD, the most successful cultivars for years.
In 2004, Emile’s son Kris Beckers took over the fruit farm. In the footsteps of his father, Kris was one of the pioneers to cultivate KANZI, a new, very tasty and juicy apple that will be a strong successor to Jonagold.
Because of the current high quality standards of agricultural products, it has become extremely important that all processes can be done smoothly and easily, and in good time. To achieve this, Kris is constantly looking for high-quality and machinery that will increase his profits. In his search for new opportunities throughout Europe, he came in close contact with NEW HOLLAND UK and started to sell the brand himself. For several years, BECKIMPEX has supplied hire and demo tractors and combines globally.
